March is Here!

Here we are in another new month. I skipped February because it was a month filled with sickness for our family: stomach bug, the flu, FL allergies, pulled back muscles...you name it, we experienced it.

But here we are in Spring, and it feels nice. Our weather is now in the upper 70's, low to mid 80's, our plants are slowly recovering from some seriously hard freezes, we'll start getting more rain...preparing for new life that always comes this time of year.

I am currently being overwhelmed by the choices for self-publishing my first book. I have to pull the trigger at some point, but the options are are so limiting in different ways so I keep going back and forth. Hoping to have it decided by the end of this month...

We've started on a new journey of health, and even though it is slow we also know that slow and steady win the race. We are looking forward to the end of this year where we can look back and see the improvement in many areas; but in the meantime we are setting small goals to achieve here and there that will help to keep us focused.

What are YOU doing this month? Are you busy with spring break plans while your kids are enjoying a break from school? Are you working on a new project around your house or yard? Have you set up goals for yourself in other areas, like fitness or personal relationships? I've done a bit of everything (except for the "spring break" plans...no little kids around here). Even if I don't tick off every box every week, as long as I achieve something that moves me forward I consider it a win. What about you? Are you an "all or nothing" kind of person? Making goals and missing some is ok; at least you're making them in the first place! And progress is still progress.

My son turns 25 this month - a quarter of a century!! I can't believe how fast time went by...if you have kids: enjoy your time with them every day! And if you have have "grown" kids: enjoy seeing them as they now are and continue to make new memories with them when you can.

That's about all I have to say right now. I'm hoping to be back in April with some more ramblings...I sent out close to 90 Christmas/New Year's cards and according to my stats only 23 people came here to read my letter. That's ok, I'm just realizing that printing the letters is probably a waste of time nowadays. It costs money and most likely ends up in the trash without being read. I might have to start uploading my letter here - next time under a password like last time - and let people decide if they want to know what's up with the FL Speelman's on their own. FYI: I did delete the letter in case you missed it and are wondering.

Take care, everyone! I haven't figured out everything on this site yet but I'm hoping to upload some recipes, maybe some old pics and memories from things I come across of my Mom's, and little writings like this...a creative outlet for this "old lady". :/

Happy Spring!
